About Us

Liancourt Community Center, located in Haiti, was founded in 2014 by Leocadie Toussaint who was born and raised in Liancourt.  Our organization is passionate about educating children as we believe it is pivotal in creating opportunities in employment, health, civic mindedness and breaking the cycle of poverty.   

 

Education rates in Haiti are amongst the lowest in the Western Hemisphere.  Wth a literacy rate of only about 59%, many of Haiti's children lack resources at home and assistance with after school studies.  As a result, they struggle academically and perpetuate the cycle of low literacy rates.  

 

Liancourt Community Center was established to provide afterschool resources which include but are not limited to certified teachers to assist with all core academic subjects and healthy snacks to support inquisitive young minds.

Our goal is to continue growing and expanding our services in this community and other regions of the country.  We aim to effectively increase the literacy rate and provide a strong foundation for employment opportunities and the ambition to pursue higher education.
